I make no guarantees about this software’s reliability. Some users have been saying that some of the links in this article are dead, so I’m posting my fixed version of the Add-in for Salesforce (2.1.0) here.

You can now install the transformed new MSI package you created on Windows 2008 R2 Server and each user will be able to use Outlook with the Salesforce for Outlook addin. Select an output directory and specify a file name. Click Transform->Apply Transform... and select the DisableOSCheck.mst file. NOTE: Only select the SalesforceForOutlook_圆4.msi if you are running the 64bit version of Microsoft Office, otherwise you’ll wan the 32bit version of the MSI file. Open InstEd and from within InstEd click File->Open and select the SalesforceForOutlook.msi file. Download DisableOSCheck.zip MST patch file and extract it to the same directory as your MSI installers in. Download and install a trial version of InstEd.

Extract the two MSI files in the zip file to your Desktop or a folder. You’ll need to log into, then click your name->Setup->Desktop Integration->Salesforce for Outlook. Download the MSI installer zip file for the add-in from. NOTE: The credit for this solution goes to Keene Maverick who first discovered this workaround.
Modify the MSI installer such that it doesn’t check the operating system version during the install.
Calling Salesforce tech support yields the urge to shoot oneself in the face. When trying to install the Salesforce for Outlook add-in on Windows 2008R2 Server the following error is observed: Well they CAN’T! For some stupid reason the Salesforce for Outlook add-in works perfectly fine on Windows 7 圆4, but does not install on Windows 2008 R2 Server 圆4.
Maybe they want to use Outlook 2010 on this Terminal Server and be able to add emails from Outlook to Salesforce. Before I noticed the folder was missing i was setting up the auto archive feature, so im not sure if that has anything to do with it.Say you’re building a new Terminal Server with Windows 2008 R2 圆4 Remote Desktop Services for your mobile sales people to use.

I cant figure out how to delete or just sync the folders so they show up in both clients. The original folder is still not seen in Outlook Trying to figure out how to get the Folder back in Outlook I decided toĬreate another folder and move all the contents back in the new folder, it now is accessible in Outlook on my desktop through this new folder. I log on to the OWA and it is still listed there with all the contents. I decided to delete original folder and rename (Notes2) to (Notes) but it wont let me delete the original folder, so I moved all the content back into original folder and deleted the duplicate (Notes2) folder.Įverything is fine for a couple of days then I noticed that my (Notes) folder is missing from the folder pane.
I have no emails in my original (Notes) folder, everything is in my (Notes2) folder. Now I have a (Notes2) folder with same set of sub-folders. As part of the IT Team we decide to try my account out to test for possible pitfalls.Įverything seemed to sync fine but one of my folders (Notes) with sub-folders, was duplicated. My company is going to switch to Exchange Online from our on-premise IMAP server.
